Northern Ghost Nights Previous Investigations

With only being 7 team members we decided to stay and work in one group through out the night rather than split into smaller team as we normally do.

We headed off not long after we arrived to get used to the place with the lights on before we started the investigation, during this time Carl done the baseline checks, whilst everyone was downstairs Carl carried on upstairs taking readings, as he returned to join the rest of us downstairs, he asked if anyone had went up stairs to near where he was as he saw a dark figure…. None of the team followed Carl upstairs or any of the staff.

We decided to start downstairs in the “Cave Bar”, we sat ourselves down and got comfortable, equipment was put into place, pictures were taking some possible “orbs” were caught on the cameras by the team. A few minutes had passed and Sue was drawn to one of the corners with in the Cave Bar, where a male spirit stood, the guy was in his 40’s unshaven, tall and well build, two names were picked up at this time George and Tom. Sue kept this information to herself to see if any other team members picked up on this male spirit. Kris came over to the same area, sat down on the nearby chair and said he was also picking up on a male energy, he described the same male as Sue did. We didn’t get much information from this male spirit, apart from the fact he was waiting there for something, Kris felt it was two men in a rowing boat who he was waiting for. Also this guy had an attitude and simply did not want us asking him questions or even being there for that matter!

We headed upstairs to the Restaurant, the temperature was slightly colder than it was downstairs. We sat spread out around the area, we took some pictures, got ourselves relaxed. Both Kris and Heidi had felt the presence of a young boy, roughly aged about 5 years old and Kris got the name “Geoffrey” , Heidi sketched a picture of this young boy, afew of us felt as if this young boy was blonde and had witnessed a lot of the “goings on” of things relating to the history of the Grotto.

Sharon was drawn to one of the tables, so we headed over and sat down, She picked up on a teenage girl roughly 14 years of age, who was sat with two other females slightly older than she was and felt as if these older females were looking after the younger one as her dad was away (she couldn’t quite place where her mam was), She also felt as if her dad was someone important in relation to the Marsden Grotto. Carl go the name “Martha” linked to one of these females. We called out to try and bring any of the spirit’s a little closer to us, we asked for a noise or any kind of sign that they were there with us, we didn’t get any response to this.

We headed back down stairs to try again in the Cave bar and the Front Bar. In the Cave Bar we tried a glass divination Sue. Nigel, Heidi Sharon and Chris (staff) sat around a table to communicate with the male spirit, Unfortunately nothing seemed to happen, we then tried dowsing with the crystals, this had a better response, questions were asked and questions were answered!
